Class Size

St. Bernard Catholic School

St. Bernard has two classrooms for each grade K-8th.  In Kindergarten,  an Instructional Assistant is assigned to each classroom.  First and Second grade have an Instructional Assistant for each grade level that is shared between the classrooms.  Third Grade thru Fifth Grade share an assistant that travels between each classroom.  Middle school classrooms have one assistant that travels between each classroom.

Kindergarten is a 1:8 ratio; 1st and 2nd grade is a 1:10 ratio; 3rd-5th grade is a 1:12 ratio, and Middle School is a 1:17 ratio.

Each student in grades K-8th travels to  Music, PE, Art, and Technology one day a week.  Middle School students also have an Elective resource class that they sign up for at the beginning of the school year.  This allows our middle school students to pursue their interest for higher order thinking in resource classes.  Students in Middle School also receive Spanish as a resource class.

NWEA MAP Assessment System

01.

Better insights, better outcomes

MAP Growth is the most trusted and innovative assessment for measuring achievement and growth in K–12 math, reading, language usage, and science. It provides teachers with accurate, and actionable evidence to help target instruction for each student or groups of students regardless of how far above or below they are from their grade level. It also connects to the largest set of instructional content providers, giving educators flexibility in curriculum choices.

02.

Useful reports for data-informed decisions

Easy-to-use, standards-aligned reports put the information teachers need at their fingertips. Reliable insights make it simple for teachers to plan for differentiated instruction, develop interventions for struggling students, and see what students are ready to learn next. Higher-level reports provide administrators the context to drive improvement across entire schools and systems.

03.

When students are counting on you, count on MAP Growth

Using MAP Growth insights, teachers can confidently tailor instruction to challenge every student, whether they are below, at, or above grade level. MAP Growth student reports also present realistic learning goals by subject areas so that, through a teacher’s guidance, students can individually see their progress and be inspired to take charge of their own learning.

04.
